The Life & Times of Infinite

Infinite was born Dasieka Hawthorne on September 30th in Gulfport Mississippi.

Raised in a single parent household, Infinite was taught the value of hard work as she watched her mother work three jobs to keep bills paid and provide for the family. The responsibilities weighed heavily as her mother turned to alcohol for comfort. Watching her mother lose herself slowly, Infinite started to hate the world and stopped caring about life. Finding her own way to lose herself, Infinite became involved in the street life and turned to drugs at a young age. Soon it seemed like everyone was giving up on Infinite as she started having physical altercations with her mother and other family members. As a result, Infinite was sent from household to household due to her violent temper and aggressive behavior.

Losing herself became the norm for Infinite. As the only child, Infinite isolated herself from the world. Shut off in the room, she vented on paper. From suicidal thoughts to envisioned dreams, paper and pen became her only true friend and way of dealing with life. In 1996, Infinite started writing her life story in raps and performing in school talent shows. From free-styling on the yard and school buses, she developed ways to entertain her peers and classmates using what she loved the most - music.

After a new addition to the family, Infinite focused more on becoming a positive role model to her new little brother. She shifted her energy towards basketball and dedicated herself to helping her family maintain.  With hard work and dedication, Infinite excelled to one of the best female basketball players hailing from Gulfport, Mississippi.  Eventually receiving a full athletic scholarship to the University of Kentucky and transferring to Jackson State after two years,  Infinite kept her promise to her family and received a college degree in pre-physical therapy. After fulfilling her promise to the family, Infinite dropped the basketball and went back to her first love - music.

The success of this hardworking lady made life look easy, however along the way Infinite overcame mountains and valleys to excel beyond her peers. Filled with pain, she maintained a  humbling spirit and rarely talked about her struggles physically and mentally through life. Infinite simply wrote about them to be heard only on wax. Like Infinite said before, “This isn’t just music. This is my life, my struggle, and my strife. Music is my story.”

The perseverance of Infinite helped establish a bountiful stepping-stone career and many positive achievements. Since releasing her first solo project in 2006, Infinite received recognition from the Jackson Music Awards, Mississippi Best Awards, Southern Ent. Awards, and other prestigious certificates & awards. With album reviews, newspaper articles, and magazine interviews, Infinite grasped the attention of many fans, supporters, and other artists. In addition Infinite established
one of the sexiest and notorious all female street teams and runway models in Mississippi, which made Infinite stand out more creating a bigger demand for Infinite. Networking doubled, collaborations doubled, and of course the fan base doubled.

Infinite embodies the characteristic of an original rapper/lyricist. She self-writes all her material and reframes from sounding similar to other artist, like most copy-cat entertainers in the industry. Spitting slick metaphors and speaking the truth about topics ranging from sex to God, Infinite’s southern street flow catches the attention of different audiences and cultures by possessing what most fear - the truth. Using a harmonized flow Infinite demands the attention of her fan base with life stories and controversial life situations, and if needed easily flows over the newest trend.

Labeled as one of the hardest-working women in Mississippi, Infinite continues to grow lyrically and establish a presence in the music industry. Infinite takes her music seriously and understands the music business enough to create a fan base for Infinite as a solo artist, Dread Bred, her former modeling team, and other Mississippi artists. With a dedicated attitude and work ethic, Infinite works to develop into one of the greatest female artist of our time. From a solo artist to a member of the rap trio Dread Bred, she gives her best to every song and improves every song. Even when she performs, her energy is bounty-less; 5th Ward Weebie (Formerly No-Limit Records) recognized her for that. From her personality to her music those who meet or hear Infinite’s music, see her as “a force to be reckoned with.” She is a hardworker, a smart worker, and very talented. She always says “I’m a shoot for the stars and land on a damn cloud.” Whether someone with a prominent force in the music industry recognizes her now or later, everyone who knows Infinite realizes she will never stop. She definitely lives up to her name - Infinite - she keeps going and going.
